EXPIRY DATE: Although there is no established expiry date for spices and herbs in Canada, we follow the following guidelines. Most ground spices, herbs and blend should be rotated out after 2 years in your pantry and 3 years for whole spices herbs and blends. We date code everything in the following format: MFD/LOT 190204 (19 = YEAR 2019, 02 = MONTH, 04 = DATE)

ORGANIC: We have been part of the organic community off and on for over 17.5 years. Although the availability & quality is getting better the pricing has always been a sore spot for many years. We are certified by ECOCERT CANADA – CERTIFICATION # : CA-176166-Z-128682-2019

Voluntary Labelling and Advertising of Foods that are and are not Products of Genetic Engineering

B2.5.2 Claims that a food is not a product of genetic engineering, when no similar foods that are products of genetic engineering have been offered for sale, are considered misleading because they create the false impression that the product is unique. In such cases, it is appropriate to use an alternate statement or to include an explanatory statement to avoid misunderstanding (par. 6.1.4 and 6.2.4).

We do not use false uniqueness…………………

Hence, we do use “non-irradiated” or “non-gmo” and strictly follow the rules & regulation outline by the CFIA

IRRADIATION; ONLY PRODUCT THAT HAVE BEEN IRRADIATION, MUST SHOW IRRADIATION HAS OCCURRED. There is no requirement in Canada to label “NON-IRRADIATED”, this is FALSE UNIQUENESS.
